Arsenal 0-1 Newcastle : Plan B Anyone ?

Firstly, to all the people who felt better after Chelsea lost this morning too -- Are you f@#$ing kidding me ? We missed a great chance to be two points off the top -- and f@#$ed it up.

To top it all off -- Koscielny got a straight red and is set to miss two games. While I'm a fan of Djorou and everything, the very thought of Squillaci and Djorou starting against Wolves and Everton scares me.

In all fairness, we saw the strongest team we had seen in a long time. So how did we actually lose this ?

(1) Cesc was sh*t today. It sucks that we rely on him so much for everything to work. But its a reminder that even when he's not mistiming his passes like he did today, an opposition team can completely shut us out by marking him well.

(II) Theo was a flop. He needs to develop into a better all round player, someone who can have an impact when he doesn't have the ball on him. He's only 21 and looks it too whenever the sh*t hits the fan. As it stands now, if someone like Cesc is not setting him up to use his pace and newly found "clinical" finishing, we're down to 10 men.

(III) "Bizarre" substitutions. Theo should have gone off right away for someone like Rosicky or Arshavin -- It shocked me that Wenger kept him on and took off Nasri (well he's injured.. ), Chamakh and Wilshere.

(IV) Bad tactics. Song and Wilshere were up against four midfielders. I think Wenger was expecting Arsenal to spend a lot of the game in Newcastle's half but we lost the game in midfield.

(V) A lack of spirit. A quiet Emirates and an off key Cesc. Like Arsene said in his postmatch, it is worrying that we're losing these games at home.

There was one interesting observation over the weekend games, all the teams who played in the champions league struggled this weekend. And ManU left it late.. very late.  Our defeat against West Brom was after a champions league game too.

Messrs. Wenger and Rice have their work cut out if you ask me, especially with Wolves next.
